Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.
East Davidson’s Visual Arts’ program is designed for high school students who have an artistic interest, dedication and enthusiasm in which they want to use in order to pursue a structured course of study. The program is a carefully planned arts curriculum that encourages intellectual, aesthetic and emotional growth.
Self-Discipline is emphasized as an essential component of a personal work ethic.
Students have the opportunity to take studio classes in drawing, painting, pen and ink, graphics, color theory, two-dimensional design, sculpture, and ceramics, as well as learning about art history, tracing visual arts from prehistory to contemporary philosophies. Studio assignments are designed to introduce the student to a variety of media and the nature of the creative process. The Visual Arts can be an integral part of each student's education here at East Davidson High School.
