Documents needed for a permit

1.  Driver Education Certificate - given to you by your driver's ed instructor once you have completed driving.

 

2.  NC Driving Eligibility Certificate - must be stamped by your school proving you are eligible to obtain a permit. (Only good for 30 days)

 

3.  Social Security Card - not a copy

 

4.  Birth Certificate- must have stamp on it.  Can use a high school transcript in lieu of birth certificate.
